As soon as we came in contact with SociAbility we knew it was going to be a project made in heaven. We were given creative freedom to create a redesign based on full user research and testing sprint. We went to the bare bones of the app and made it our mission to make sure it was fully accessible.
SociAbility is an app that helps users with varying needs to find accessible venues. The app asks users to input specific information about the accessibility of a venue that helps people explore their communities with peace of mind.
Our objective was to make sure the app was accessible while being engaging and user friendly. Through user testing and user research, we explored how layout, content and design could aid the user which you can read about here.
We tested and designed for different disabilities, making sure that the content reflected the different needs. We decided to elements of gamification to motivate users to engage with the app which you can read about here.
We designed a portrait and landscape version of the app and included navigational tools and more button interactions so we could help users go through the app effortlessly. We also made sure that we were consistent in terms of colour contrast and using typefaces that would aid people with visual impairments.
